It’s high summer in August and the sun outside is blazing hot. Wimbledon tennis and the World Cup have been and gone. I’ve seen and loved Toy Story 5. The BBC Prom concerts are in full swing. And while I pack for my holiday, I am super happily reflecting on a wonderful year of dance at West Wimbledon Dance Academy.
There were so many highlights in 2025-26 but some that stand out for me are –
- The three mini-shows at the Winter and Summer Fairs at St. Matthew’s Church and the Summer Fair at St. Matthew’s School when students danced on the grass playing field – a first for the school!
- The outstanding exam results in December and March when all students achieved distinction or merit – amazing!
- Seeing some of our students being ball girls at the tennis – they really stood out for poise, elegance and athleticism!
Congratulations to all the students on a great year.
And I am really looking forward to next term when we will be working towards West Wimbledon Dance Academy’s Christmas Show featuring extracts from Beatrix Potter, Elite Syncopations, Contemporary, Tap Dance and (not least!) The Nutcracker.
